Happy New Year

Well, December was much more manic than I wanted but I've just about survived.

I shall be having a little blogging holiday for a couple of weeks whilst I plan the year ahead.

If you (or anyone you know) would like to learn Quilling though I will be running a workshop at Yandles, Martock on Saturday 30th January from 10 until 12.30pm showing you all the basic shapes which you will learn and then make a couple of cards to practice them too.

Cost is £15 for all materials, use of any equipment and light refreshments.
Call Yandles Hobby Shop on 01935 822571 to book - I will follow on with a Spring Quilling workshop, then a Butterflies workshop in February and March too.

Yesterday - the worst day of the holiday weather wise - we had a day out at Longleat to visit the Chinese Festival of Light.  We made a day of it, getting rather damp in the process, visiting lots of animals and then the lights when it was dark, it's really worth a visit.

Unfortunately my ice skating excursion there with my Godson got cancelled due to the weather but we still filled the day.  Here are a couple of pictures as a taster:

The pagoda temple is made using 80,000 ceramic pieces (cups, bowls, plates and spoons) and is 52 feet high - very impressive!

Happy New Year and see you soon.

Three seasons!

These are 3 pictures which I made for a recent commission.

They use the lovely Stampin' Up! set called Sheltering Tree.
I was only asked to make 3 frames but of course they also lend themselves very nicely to making a set for 4 seasons.

I've added one of the sentiments to the first tree and added some punched hearts.
The stamp set also features the swing, bike and broom that are shown on the pictures.

Boofle goes snowboarding

A little bit of Christmas today!

This is a quick Boofle card I made with a decoupage pack I've had a while (one of the packs from the massive stash!!).

I cut out the layers of Boofle and added the picture to a red square which I rounded the corners on.

Sentiment from a retired SU set, punched and layered on another punch.

Everything mounted on a lovely kraft card and finished with card candi to match.

For anyone not keeping an eye on me on Facebook too I've also been modelling Christmas hats today which might amuse you!
