Santa!

I have a few pictures queueing up for me to add but a short post today with a quick card - a Christmas card no less!!!

I've joined in with Shirley over at Nannieflash2 Blog who has a Facebook group called 'Sundays with Santa', the idea being to add a card each week against a nominated Christmas theme so you will have a nice big pile by year end (in theory!).

This weeks subject is actually Santa:

It was just a quick card as I have a few other things on but I've been threatening to enter this for a couple of weeks now!

The stamp and sentiment are from an old Stampin' Up set called Santa's List, background paper is from one of their DSP stacks.

A few layers added to tie in the colours and card candi to finish!

Wot no crafting!

Well, I had planned a crafty day today especially as the weather forecast earlier in the week suggested all sorts of cold goings-on.

But, needless to say this didn't happen and here are some pictures from my day!!

We have booked a break in the Lake District in January next year so I have just bought some more serious boots in preparation so we went to test them!  We went to Pen-Y-Fan in the Brecon Beacons, there was so much more snow than I had reckoned on but the scenery was fabulous.

Typically someone had stolen the sun and the views at the top but we still had a great time and the boots passed their test!

Relax ...

The paper piecing examples may cease eventually but as I've made a few - here's another one!!

This stamp is from a Papermania set I've had for ages called It's a Man's World and I've paper pieced the chair and trousers and also double stamped the paper and added that as an extra layer too.

I've used SU window framelits to cut out and mount on an A5 card with paper from the matching Papermania 'man' pad.

Sentiment is from a little Hobbyart set and a few card candi to finish off - not too many elements with my limited time!

Anne over at StampsandPaper has also added a sample with this set on her blog today - do pop past for a visit.

More cake?

Just one more paper piecing card today after a busy night at Crafty Bunch.
I'll take more pics of my other samples another day.

As promised it is the same 'Huge Cake' stamp from Woodware as before but for this card I very much CASE'd a card made by Francoise Read from the Woodware catalogue the stamp featured in.

This card is A5 and I've used some Papermania pads again for the card background and paper piecing.

I've used a couple more of the sentiment stamps from the set and added candles to the words and doodled on this one!

Had to sneak in my new SU bow punch too!!

Bows a plenty

I made one of these cards with current Stampin' Up colours the other day and love the bows so much that I had to make a few more cards for birthdays in the next few weeks.

I've used some paper from a pad in the stash and the new Bow Builder punch from Stampin' Up.

They are mounted on a large polka dot embossing folder and a layer of card to pick up colours in the bows.

Sentiment stamped and cut out with SU products.

Paper-pieced Cake!

Trying not to give away too many samples before Crafty Bunch on Wednesday but as I've been busy I have to share a sample.

I do love these 'huge' word stamps from Woodware.

This one is called 'Huge Cake' and they are ideal for paper piecing.

This is a really simple example - I have a more doctored one for another day.

I've just used a papermania cake-related pad, stamped on 4 different papers, cut out each letter and added them to a stamped version.  I also cut out a few mini cakes from another page to decorate the card.

I've had fun with all the samples ad will share more later in the week.

Clematis

A spot of paper piecing today (much more of this to come shortly!).

This uses a Woodware stamp called 'Clematis', it's a great image for paper piecing as it's easy to cut out - although I did then do the fiddly centre of the flower too!

I've kept it simple by stamping onto some pink, green and yellow paper in my stash and just cutting them out and sticking them on the stamped image.

I've inked round the top layer and simply added some gems and card candi to finish without a sentiment so it could be used for any occasion.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone and hope you've had a nice Christmas break.

No surprises that my December was too busy for the available hours and my 2 day craft break has so far extended all week but it's nice to have a rest.

I went to Longleat on Monday and can thoroughly recommend their Festival of Light which was due to finish Sunday but they are opening 3-7.30pm for an extra couple of weeks if you get a chance do go, it was fantastic - and we got a safari and ice skating in too!!

Just a few pics (including the singing Christmas tree) which don't really do it justice but give you a taster, the display of 200 animals around the lake was amazing:
