Woodland Folk

Still building up to doing anything that requires a bit more skill but have now made a few cards after my crafting holiday!

This is from a DOCrafts Woodland Folk die-cut pack. The base picture is layered up with all the lovely animals (even the hedgehog that looks like a teddy bear, he's hiding in this picture - thanks to Michelle for pointing that out!!).

The extra tree layers are added after all the other 3d work by attaching some 'card extensions' so that the trees sit over all the other layers - not necessarily a card for posting!

Blog article

A great blog I keep an eye on is Ann Martin's All Things Paper.

This week she has posted an interview with the brilliant Diane Boden Crane which features some fab pics and the chance to win goodies!

Diane's work is so fine the pictures really can't do the detail justice, although the work does look fantastic. I am lucky enough to have seen some of the pieces 'for real'.

Do visit the article to see for yourself.

SU Evening

I was lucky enough to be asked along to another Stampin' Up evening recently.
This is the make and take we did - it's not 100% straight but there we go!

The textured yellow card for the base is lovely and is layered with a piece of their paper, which is double sided - it did seem a shame to stick the other patterned side down!

The white card has 2 corners rounded using the corner punch. Some lovely daffodil delight taffeta ribbon is wrapped around the paper layer and tied into a knot. This is emphasised by using the 'word window large' punch to cut away a section of the white card which I think is rather effective.

The stamp is from one of the sale-a-bration sets currently on offer. The flowers are punched out using the boho blossoms punch and a brad in the centre to pick out the colours of the card. A Thank You punch also ties in the colours.

Thanks to Stevie for a great evening.
